The Better Menopause is empowering women in midlife through science-backed products, inspired by our community’s needs

Meet the founders

Founder Jo Lyall has spent the last 25 years working her way up through various notable CEO roles, often the only female voice around the table. In 2003, she set out to reinvent herself and completed a 3 year qualification in nutritional therapy. Keen to scratch her entrepreneurial itch, Jo later established her own nutrition clinic to support women, particularly through stress and reproductive health. Pursuing her passion alongside her corporate career brought balance and purpose. Fast forward 20 years, Jo is mother to two boys and hits perimenopause. In pursuit of her next reinvention, The Better Menopause is born - to transform the narrative around midlife from one of weakness, to one of strength & empowerment.

The Better Menopause’s lead investors Debbie Wosskow and Anna Jones, previously co-founders of AllBright, are on a mission to support women in living a better life.

Having exited AllBright in late 2022, they committed their next chapter to the 3 pillars of diversity, health & emotional wellbeing. Menopause quickly became top of the agenda. Like many issues related to women’s health, menopause is a minefield to navigate… who to see, what to take & how to talk about it. Debbie and Anna, armed with their network of women & scientific experts, set out to find answers. They quickly uncovered the cutting edge research surrounding the importance of gut health balance for women at this critical stage of their lives. Together, they married Jo’s expertise with their collaborative, community-orientated approach… and our flagship product, The Better Gut, was born.

Cherry Healey began her onscreen career in fronting a series of gritty documentaries for BBC Three. The documentaries had a particular focus on where Cherry was in her own life, including Cherry Gets Married, Cherry Has a Baby and Cherry Gets Pierced, to name a few. Her honest, warm and engaging presenting style quickly established her as a trusted household name.

Cherry has since presented Don’t Tell the Bride, The Best of British Takeaways, Sunday Morning Live, and in 2016 she took part in Celebrity Masterche. She also fronted Britain’s Favourite Supermarket Foods for BBC One, Find My First Love, What to Buy and Why and SSecrets of the Sales – where she explored the psychology of sales shopping and the tricks the high-street stores use.

Cherry has co-presented Inside the Factory with Gregg Wallace for 8 series on BBC Two and has just finished presenting her second series of 10 Years Younger in 10 Days for Channel 5. It has been a long-term ambition of Cherry’s to front a women’s health format and it has become a reality. Women’s Health: Breaking the Taboos was a brave commission by C5 where Cherry uncovered the secrets and taboos surrounding women’s health.

Passionate about wellbeing and currently developing ideas for her own line of retreats, Cherry is an ambassador for luxury health and wellness brands.
